Date: 2013-08-29

Team men Akwa United suffered a 1-0 away defeat to ABS FC in Wednesday's Glo Premier League week 28 fixture at the Ilorin Township Stadium.

The Uyo based outfit started the game on the front foot, searching for an early opener but the home side soon settled found their rhythm to resist the the visitors early pressure.

After a barren first half, Kelvin Njoku's lone strike in the 55 minute was enough to secure a hard fought victory for the home side against a resilient Akwa side.

Both teams returned for the second 45 minutes in search of an early break with Akwa looking the more dangerous side in front of goal.

Ten minutes into the second half Njoku broke the deadlock to send the visitors in front.
