Date: 2013-08-19

The Kwara State Government has said it will embark on the construction of Independent Power project before the end of this year to attract foreign investors.

The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Prince Tunji Moronfoye stated this in an interview with newsmen in Ilorin at the weekend.

Prince Moronfoye stated that the state government had installed more transformers across the 16 local government areas of the state to fast track socio-economic activities in the state.

The commissioner restated that new equipment would be installed in the five newly renovated general hospitals in the state by the end of September and that additional five government general hospitals would also be constructed.

On insecurity, Prince Moronfoye noted that the administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed had procured 20 vehicles for the state Joint Task Force, to ensure a crime free society.

He praised the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Agboola Glover and other security chiefs in the state, for working relentlessly with the present administration to tackle crimes.

Moronfoye explained that the administration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed had expended millions of naira to take care of natural disasters in the state and warned members of the public to shun acts that could cause untold hardship in the state.
