The Kwara State  Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has assured the people of the state a hitch free Eid-il-fitr celebration.

The State Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Yerima Gana gave the assurance while receiving two operation vehicles, four motorcycles, arms and  ammunition donated by the  Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN) in Ilorin.

Yerima said"every strategy have been put in place by the command to ensure that no casualty, breakdown of law and order".

He said men and officers of the corps are better informed and trained on their roles and responsibilities.

The Commandant appreciated the gesture by the IPMAN and said that the materials would enhance the operation of the NSCDC in reducing oil pipeline vandalization and other related crimes to the bearest minimum in the state.

The NSCDC boss also called on other associations in the state to emulate the kind gesture demonstrated by IPMAN.

He thanked the association and assured that the materials would be use for the purpose they are meant for.

Presenting the items to the NSCDC boss, the Chairman, IPMAN NNPC Ilorin Depot, Alhaji Rasheed Olopade said "there was a directive that the NSCDC in the state should be engaged in proper monitoring of the oil pipelines in the state.

Olopade described the NSCDC as a government agency fully empowered to safe guard and protect the oil pipe line from the hands of the vandals.

The chairman said the IPMAN has full assurance and confidence in the corps for the task.

He also disclosed that Sagatech, a private security out fit was formerly engaged by the IPMAN to monitor oil pipelines in the state.
