KWSG charges RTEAN on peace, security
The Kwara State Government has charged Road Transport Employer's Association of Nigeria, Kwara state branch, to allow peace and unity to reign among members in order to ensure security of life and property in the state.
In a release from his office, the Special Adviser to Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed on Labour Matters, Comrade Bisi Fakayode, disclosed this recently when the newly constituted state executive council of the RTEAN paid him a courtesy call in his office.
According to the statement, Comrade Bisi Fakayode said there cannot be progress and development in any society where there is no unity and security of life and property.
He therefore, assured them that government was ready to partner and support any union or association in promoting peace and harmonious relationship in the state.
The Special Adviser commended the RTEAN for conducting a free and fair election and advised them to carry along their members in all their activities.
He later called the new executives to call a meeting of stakeholders in the Offa/Erin-ile dispute and settle it amicably for peace and progress to return to the troubled areas.
The newly elected chairman of RTEAN, Alhaji Salaman Ayoku, had earlier commended the state government for maintaining peace and harmony in the state. He appealed to the state government to address the crises between Offa and Erin-Ile in order for the association to operate freely in the area.
