IPMAN Urges Stiffer Sanctions against Pipeline Vandals
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has called for stiffer sanctions against oil pipeline vandals in the country, saying that anybody convicted for offence should either be executed or jailed for life.
IPMAN Chairman in the Western Zone, Mr. Olumide Ogunmade made this known at the fidau prayers for the late IPMAN Chairman for Ilorin depot, Alhaji Jamiu Bolaji Agboolade.
Ogunmade was represented at the occasion by his deputy, Mr. Ogbonneno Tosin Adekoya.
The Western zone comprises, Ibadan, Mosimi, Ore, Satellite and Ilorin depots.
Ogunmade also accused the Federal Government of allegedly aiding and abetting the illegal activities which were sabotaging the economy.
According to Ogunmade, this was because, whenever suspects were arrested, they would be released few days later, to continue with their illegal activities.
’’The Federal Government is paying lip service to the problems of pipeline vandalism.”
