Wikki want to halt Kwara United's road record in Bauchi

Date: 2013-06-05

Wikki Tourists' media officer, Usman Abbas has stated that the Bauchi based side are not intimidated by the brilliant performances of Kwara United on the road this season as they welcome the Afonja Warriors today in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match.

Wikki have been in the relegation zone since the beginning of the season after opening the season with a loss at home to Kano Pillars and only secured their first win after four matches.

Speaking with reporters ahead of the fixture against Kwara United who have won two away games – against Sharks and Lobi Stars, Abbas assured Bauchi fans that they will not regret coming to the stadium today to support their darling team.

He urged them to be patient with the players if it seems the game fails to produce an early goal but was optimistic Wikki would carry the day.

"We have an important tie ahead of us which we must win at all cost within the stipulated rules governing the game," Abbas said.

"We are aware of the impressive record of Kwara United at away matches but they are not without fault. We shall explore this and ensure we get a win at the end of the 90 minutes.

"Wikki will not go down. We must continue to keep on fighting till the end of the season," Abbas added.

Wikki are 18th on the log with 17 points from 15 games while their opponents are riding high with 25 points from same number of games. They are third behind Kano Pillars and Heartland.
