KWSG to employ more teachers
The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Barr. Lanre Daibu, disclosed this while addressing staff and community leaders in Moro and Edu Local Government Areas during an inspection tour of schools
Also, the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) will soon commence the establishment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centres in some selected primary and Junior secondary schools in the state.
He reiterated the state government's commitment to the delivery of affordable and quality education to the people through its policy of ''Every Child Counts''.
Daibu who explained that the recruitment exercise would commence very soon, pointed out that the board is presently devising a method to employ teachers in their respective local government areas to check truancy, particularly in schools in the rural areas.
He revealed with delight that the state government has ensured the regular payment of salary and promotion of teachers in the state to boost their morale and ensure qualitative teaching.
The Executive Chairman appealed to community leaders particularly in the rural areas to always complement government's efforts by assisting the teaching staff with residential accommodation.
He assured that renovation work would commence in July, in both primary and junior secondary schools that require rehabilitation to provide a conducive teaching environment for the pupils.
He added that the state government has included computer education at the basic education level to make the pupils computer literate at their early stage in tune with the new trend.
Daibu said experts from the board have already kicked-off work on the designated ICT centres and the supply of computers to such centres would soon commence.
He reiterated the state government's commitment to the total transformation of the basic education sector in the state through its laid programmes.
The SUBEB boss also applauded the state Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed, for his support to the board always.
He however noted that more schools needed to be provided with classrooms and teaching staff and vowed that .the board would ensure that schools in the state meet up with international stand.ard.
Daibu enjoined the school Authorities to ensure proper maintenance and safety of school proprieties from hoodlums and vandals.
A community leader, Mallam Karimu Akande in his remark, complained of inadequate classrooms, furniture and dilapidated structures as the major problems in most of the communities and appealed to the board for urgent attention.
