Saraki is Committed to ABS - Chukwuemeka

Date: 2013-05-18

General Manager of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Babes of Ilorin, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said his side plays the best brand of football in the Nigeria elite league, describing it as "digital football"

Chukwuemeka fondly called ‘ACC' disclosed that the style of football the Ilorin based side plays differentiate it from others. “That is why teams find us a hard nut to crack when a level playing ground is allowed,” he said.

He added that no player of the team is being owed any money, even as he revealed that the financier of the club, Senator Bukola Saraki is committed to the team.

Chukwuemeka speaking during an interview after his side forced Sunshine Stars of Akure to a goalless draw, argued that in terms of structure and club management, ABS remains the best.

"As I'm talking to you, we are not owing our players salaries or match bonuses. We have paid the players up to date and very soon, we will settle their sign on fees."

On the level of commitment of Senator Saraki, Chukwuemeka explained that the former Kwara State governor has not for any time abandoned the club, saying that he has been in constant touch with the team.

"Let me tell you this, Senator Saraki knows all the players by name, he interacts with them and the officials and financially, he makes sure that the club lacks nothing."

Commenting the draw secured by the youthful side against Sunshine Stars in Akure, the ABS helmsman said: "Getting a draw against almighty Stars, who are one of the best clubs presently in Nigeria is no means feat and it will go a long way in convincing league followers that ABS is a side you cannot wave aside".
