SUSPECTED two-man syndicate, who specialise  in using fake letter head, the Federal Government stamp and official stamp of the Secretary to  Kwara State Government (SSG), Alhaji Isiaka Gold, to issue letters of employment for sale in the state, has been nabbed by the men of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the state capital, on Wednesday, while parading the suspects, the commandant of the corps, Yerima Gana, said the suspects had defrauded four victims to the tune of N990,000 in the state.

"On May 3,  at about 5.00 p.m, personal assistant to the SSG to Kwara State government, Alhaji Majeed Ambali, brought one Wasiu Adeleke with three other complainants to our office on the offence of fraud, criminal conspiracy and impersonation in the name of SSG.

"From our investigation, it was revealed that Wasiu Adeleke works in conjunction with one Abiodun Adeshina, who was equally arrested and they have confessed to the crime of defrauding people in the name of the office of the SSG to Kwara State government," he said.

The civil defence boss said Adeleke introduced Adeshina to the four victims as personal assistant to Kwara SSG, adding that the application and forms for employment were submitted through Alhaji  Ambali at the SSG’s office, Ilorin.

"Through  Adeshina, he promised to award victims a contract of constructing drainages and culverts through the office of the SSG, in Ilorin," he said.

While calling on people of to be wary of those who had been using names of many personalities to swindle innocent people in the state, Yerima warned the members of the public to be careful in doing business with fraudulent people in the society.

He said the two suspects would be charged to court after thorough investigation of the matter.

He also warned criminals in the state to stay away from the state, adding that anybody caught would be made to face the full wrath of law.
