The Enugu State Police command has debunked reports making the rounds that the killers of the former Kwara state Commissioner of police, Mr. Chinwike Asadu have been arrested in Enugu.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Tonye Ebitibituwa who reacted to the media reports described it as unfounded, false and misleading.

A media report credited to the state command had disclosed that three suspects in the killing of the former Commissioner of Police have been nabbed by a private security outfit in Enugu and handed over to the police command.

In a statement made available to DailyPost on Tuesday, Ebitibituwa said there was need for all information to be verified by media organizations before publication to avoid misleading the public.

The CP further stated that the case of the death of the late commissioner of police was still being investigated, adding that at the conclusion of the investigations, members of the public would be briefed appropriately through the media.

He, however, solicited the cooperation of the media and other members of the public to provide useful and timely information to the police.
