Kwara Govt Procures Thirteen Ambulances for General Hospitals
In a bid to ensure the well-being of Kwara residents, the Kwara State government in collaboration with Millennium Development Goals (MGDs) office has procured thirteen ambulances for General Hospitals and equipment for forty-three primary health centres.
Distributing the ambulances, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed explained that the remodeling work on the Ilorin, Offa, Saare Kaiama and Omu-aran general hospital is about to be completed.
Speaking at the flag-off of Role Back Malaria in Kwara State held at the state Ministry of Health, the Governor said that the burden of malaria on the health system in terms of death, treatment cost, preventive measures was significant, stressing that state government has partnered with the Federal Government, bilateral and multilateral organizations towards reducing it to barest minimum.
On his part, the state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Kayode Issa, commended the Governor for given attention to qualitative and accessible health care delivery across the state.
Royal Times reports that the Governor also inspected some on-going projects which include the construction of drainage along GSS-sango roundabout, Fate road project, the recently completed Mubo road.
