Saraki Urges Super Eagles to Defeat Kenya on Saturday
Former Kwara Governor, Sen. Bukola Saraki, has urged the Super Eagles to use their influence as African champions to defeat Kenya in Saturday's World Cup qualifying match against the Harambee Stars.
The proprietor of Bukola Babes of Ilorin, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
He said that the Super Eagles had all it takes to defeat the Kenyan team.
"I think that the African Nation's Cup will do a lot to their confidence.
"I believe that its now the issue of confidence and belief and I believe that they should go to the match as champions of Africa and
continue to perform as they did in the other matches so that they can build towards future competitions coming ahead."
On his club's performance, the ex- governor said the Bukola Babes would give a good account of its self in the ongoing soccer season.
He said the club's outing was part of a private sector participation in the league.
According to him, the club is expected to perform well in this year's season, having been together for two seasons.
He said the club's target was to be a pioneer in private sector participation in the league.
"We have tried to build on last year's team. So, I hope that this year, the players haven played the whole season together, they will be able to play better this year.
"But, of course, you know, its all about resources but we are trying to motivate our players and we are hopeful that we will give a good outing this year.
"I think the challenge is for them to continue to be an entertaining team, disciplined and also for them to promote their own skills and let us take every match as it comes.
"I believe that our target is to be the pioneers in private sector participation in the league and if we can do that two seasons in the premier league and hopefully by the time we encourage others to join, I believe that we will get the premier league in the right direction it should have."
