Unuanel Unhappy with PFL Result
Kwara United technical adviser, Samson Unuanel is not satisfied with his wards' lacklustre performance as they were forced to a 1-1 draw by visiting Sunshine Stars in their NPFL Matchday 2 encounter on Wednesday.
United would have themselves to blame not to have utilised many chances that came their way as Josiah Christian's goal for Sunshine Stars in the 78th minute cancelled Abu Azeez's effort in the 60th minute to secure a 1-1 draw for the Akure Gunners at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.
The Afonja Warriors, however, ended the game with 10 men as defender Halilu Obadaki was rightly sent off in the 90th minute after a dangerous tackle on Sunshine Stars' Ajani Ibrahim.
Unuanel disclosed to supersport.com that United would bounce back, but charged his wards to lift their game for them to avoid being thrown out of the Ilorin-based team.
“Some of my players are new campaigners in the professional league and they were too anxious to score goals.
“I am not happy with the draw I got yesterday (Wednesday) and I have told my boys to improve for me not to be forced to do what they won't like.
“We would bounce back by the grace of God in our next game,” Unuanel said to supersport.com.
Kwara United will have a tough duel in their next NPFL Matchday 3 game this weekend at Sharks as the Afonja Warriors have never won in Port Harcourt.
