Security operatives have neutralised four suspected bandits and rescued two abducted victims during a swift operation in Aboki community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to security reports, security personnel were immediately deployed after receiving reports of a kidnapping incident in the community.

The armed bandits, numbering five, reportedly invaded the area and abducted a resident, identified as Alhaji Tukur. However, security operatives responded promptly, engaging the suspects in a gun battle.

During the operation, four of the suspected bandits were killed, while one escaped with gunshot injuries.

The security team also rescued Alhaji Tukur and another victim, both of whom regained their freedom following the intervention.

The successful operation is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to intensify the fight against kidnapping and banditry through improved surveillance and rapid response across vulnerable communities.

The development also comes shortly after the approval of a new Nigerian Army battalion for Omu-Aran, a strategic move expected to strengthen counterterrorism and anti-banditry operations in Kwara State.
