Four research teams from Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, have secured competitive research grants worth $43,913 and over N83 million from international and national funding organisations, further strengthening the institution's reputation for research excellence.

At the international level, a research team led by Dr. Bolatito Eunice Olanipekun received a $43,913 TWAS-UNESCO research grant. Meanwhile, three other KWASU research teams emerged successful under the 2025 National Research Fund (NRF) grant scheme.

The team led by Dr. Abdulwaheed Musa secured N37.59 million, Dr. Kehinde Peter Alabi's team received N25 million, while Dr. Khafayat Yetunde Olatinwo's team was awarded N20.44 million.

Presenting the award letters, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, congratulated the researchers, describing the achievement as a testament to KWASU's commitment to impactful research and innovation.

He also urged the beneficiaries to mentor early-career researchers to strengthen the university's research culture, attract more competitive grants and enhance its global visibility.
