The ancient community of Ganmo in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State is set to witness a historic religious gathering as residents, Islamic scholars, community leaders and dignitaries converge for the grand opening of the newly constructed ultra-modern Central Mosque.

The commissioning ceremony is scheduled to hold on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon.

This marks a significant milestone in the spiritual and infrastructural development of the community.

The imposing mosque, which stands as one of the most modern Islamic worship centres in the area, features contemporary architectural designs, spacious prayer halls and state-of-the-art facilities aimed at providing a conducive environment for worship and religious activities.

As part of the inauguration programme, the maiden Jumu'ah prayer in the new mosque will be led by the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh Al-Imam Abdullahi AbdulHameed, whose presence is expected to attract worshippers and Islamic faithful from within and outside Kwara State.

Community leaders described the project as a testament to the commitment of the people of Ganmo and their benefactors towards promoting Islam, fostering unity and strengthening religious values among residents.

They noted that the completion of the mosque represents years of dedication, sacrifice and collective effort by members of the community who contributed in various ways to make the dream a reality.

According to the organisers, the grand opening ceremony will provide an opportunity for Muslims and well-wishers to celebrate the achievement while offering prayers for peace, progress and continued development in Ganmo and beyond.

The Mosque Committee has extended invitations to members of the public, religious leaders, government officials and friends of the community to attend the event and share in the historic occasion.
