Political Support Group Backs Kale Kawu for Kwara Governorship Ahead of PDP Primaries

Date: 2026-05-21

A political support group, New Dawn Network, has thrown its weight behind governorship aspirant, Kale Kawu, ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primaries in Kwara State.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by Funsho Amodu for the group, members praised Kawu's commitment to community development across the 16 local government areas of the state, saying his interventions positively impacted thousands of residents.

The group described Kawu as "a man who refuses to let the impossible win," noting that his projects were executed through personal resources and dedication to humanity.

"The New Dawn Network proudly honours Kawu's unwavering commitment, visionary leadership, and selfless service to the people of Kwara State.

"Through bold, independent development initiatives spanning all local government areas, Kawu has not only delivered tangible progress; he has restored hope, dignity, and opportunity to thousands of lives," the group added.

Highlighting some of the interventions credited to the aspirant, they said communities had benefited from renewable energy projects through solar installations.

"Strategic solar installations now bring reliable electricity to homes, markets, schools, and villages: powering dreams, businesses, and safety after dark," the statement noted.

On healthcare support, the group said Kawu had assisted vulnerable residents through payment of medical bills and provision of drugs.

"Prompt settlement of hospital bills and provision of life-saving medications have removed the crushing burden of sickness, proving that compassion must be practical and immediate," the group said.

It also commended the aspirant's investment in education, particularly through scholarship programmes for students across the state.

"Full scholarships awarded to thousands of brilliant students, breaking barriers to knowledge and planting seeds of generational transformation," it added.

Speaking on youth empowerment, the group said Kawu had created opportunities for economic growth and self-reliance among young people.

"Sustainable jobs and skills created for young people, turning talent and ambition into real livelihoods and self-reliance," the group added.

It further praised the construction of roads and bridges in rural communities, saying the projects had improved connectivity and economic activities.

"Newly constructed roads and bridges have ended years of rural isolation, reconnecting communities to commerce, opportunity, and one another."

The group also acknowledged support for orphanage homes and vulnerable children through continuous welfare interventions.

Describing Kawu's leadership style as compassionate and people-oriented, they maintained that his interventions reflected a genuine commitment to humanity.

"Kale Kawu has shown that true leadership is not about titles or public funds, but about heart, competence, and quiet determination to serve humanity," the statement added.

The governorship primaries of the PDP had been slated for May 27, 2026.
