Captain Ahmad Mahmoud Withdraws from Kwara Governorship Race, Endorses Yahaya Seriki
A STEP FORWARD FOR UNITY: OFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL AND ENDORSEMENT STATEMENT
When we set out on this journey to contest for the highest office in our dear state, we were driven by a singular and unyielding vision: to build on the foundations of progress, elevate the lives of our people, and ensure that the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to fly high with pride and purpose in Kwara State.
Over the past few months, we have engaged with our people, listened to their concerns, and witnessed the incredible passion of Kwarans who desire continuous growth and development. I remain deeply grateful for the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, and the unwavering belief shown by our supporters in this shared vision.
However, leadership is never about personal ambition alone; it is about the collective good of the people and the stability of our great party. Following the historic endorsement by our leader and mentor, His Excellency Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who identified Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, MFR, as his preferred successor, I took time to reflect deeply on the future of our party and our state.
After extensive consultations with my campaign team, mentors, stakeholders, and loyal supporters across the state, I have made the strategic decision to withdraw my aspiration to become the next Governor of Kwara State.
This decision was not made out of weakness, but from a place of conviction, maturity, and commitment to the unity of our party. Through these consultations, it became evident that our vision for progress, development, and prosperity aligns strongly with that of Ambassador Yahaya Seriki.
Ambassador Seriki remains a committed party loyalist, a respected philanthropist, and a grassroots mobiliser who has impacted lives across communities in Kwara State. I believe he possesses the capacity to consolidate on the achievements of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration and further advance the developmental aspirations of our people.
By supporting him, we are not abandoning our dreams for Kwara State; rather, we are strengthening them through unity, continuity, and collective purpose.
I therefore call on all members of my campaign structure, delegates, supporters, and loyal APC members across the sixteen local government areas of the state to redirect their support, energy, and commitment towards the aspiration of Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, MFR, ahead of the forthcoming party primary.
Our mission has always been service to the people, and today, that service demands unity, sacrifice, and loyalty to the progress of Kwara State and the APC.
God bless the All Progressives Congress.
God bless Kwara State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Yours sincerely,
Captain Ahmad Mahmoud
