The Kwara State Ministry of Environment and Forestry has commenced clearing of illegal dumpsites, weeds and bushy setbacks and medians in designated areas in the Ilorin Metropolis.
The Commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Barr. Kayode Towoju, stated this  in his office at the weekend before the commencement of the activities.
Barr. Towoju stressed the need to ensure a clean and beautiful environment in Kwara State, hence the need to clear all major roads and highways within the metropolis of filth.
The Commissioner has therefore charged the operators in both Environment and Forestry to ensure completion of their activities within three days so as to ensure a safe and healthy environment in Kwara State.
He also ordered that a report be submitted today as he would personally inspect the work done.
Areas for evacuation of refuse, setbacks and medians clearing are: Water View, Metropolitan Area, Polytechnic Road, Tate & Lyle, Michael Imoudu, Henry George Area, University Mini Campus and CBN Quarters.
Other areas are Federal Training School, Adewole, Lagos Road, Kano Road, Atiku Abubakar Road, Kaduna Road, Offa Garage, Judges Quarters, Flower Gardens, Bishop Smith Primary School’s Fence, Adisa Building Fence/Former Press Centre, and General Hospital.
