APC Support Groups Endorse Kwara Assembly Speaker Yakubu Danladi for Governor

Date: 2026-04-09

Support groups of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have expressed their support for the gubernatorial ambition of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.

Members of APC Support Groups, during a press conference and rally held at Baptist Secondary School, Okuta in Baruten Local Government Area of the state, expressed their full support for Danladi-Salihu's aspiration.

The event drew thousands of APC faithful and community leaders from across Baruten.

They openly endorsed Danladi-Salihu for the state's top political job, citing his development-oriented representation of Baruten and Kwara State, and his strong grassroots connections, as reasons he should become the next governor of the state.

At the rally, the people expressed support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election and hailed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's leadership qualities.

The Sinadonwiru of Okuta Emirate, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris, said that Baruten APC faithful have reaffirmed their support for Governor AbdulRazaq's leadership, Tinubu's re-election, and the choice of Danladi-Salihu as AbdulRazaq's successor in 2027.

"Within his six-plus years as Speaker from Baruten, we have witnessed remarkable progress in education, health, infrastructure and social welfare. When he came onboard, he promised KWASU Ilesha campus would live and it does. We have Notia FM bridging Baruten's information gap, renovated schools, upgraded hospitals, new roads and ongoing projects – all made possible by his representation.

"The Kwara State House of Assembly under Danladi has protected his constituency while ensuring every local government gets its due, ensuring spread development statewide. It is ideal he carries on Governor AbdulRazaq's good work, having stood with the governor through thick and thin, because development is great only when sustained."

During a visit to the palace of the Emir of Okuta and Chairman of Baruten Traditional Rulers Council, Dr. Idris Abubakar, Serobetete III, the Emir officially endorsed the Speaker for the governorship race.

"I am 100% in support of this course. He (Danladi-Salihu) is better than some politicians. I fully back the Speaker as the preferred candidate. No one is 100% perfect. If you have any issues with the Speaker, settle them among yourselves at home and give him your support," the Emir said.
