The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has once again assured the Chairman and Members of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee of his prayers and support at all times.

The Emir gave this assurance on Thursday in a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Committee and Danmasani of Ilorin, Engr Suleiman Yahaya Alapansanpa FNSE.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari commended the Committee for the consistent improvement in the organisation of the annual event, noting that the festival has not only become a household name in Ilorin but also beyond.

The Emir, who acknowledged the support of the Kwara State Government and several other individuals and organisations to the festival over the years, enjoined the Committee not to leave any stone unturned in ensuring that this year's edition turns out to be the best by every parameter.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who is currently on holiday abroad, appealed to the Federal and State Governments as well as corporate organisations and individuals to support the Committee in every way possible for it to discharge its responsibilities to the fullest.

Speaking earlier, Engr Alapansanpa said that the call was informed by the need to seek the Emir's blessings as the Committee commences preparations for the 2026 edition of the festival.

Engr Alapansanpa, who is a former Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA), assured the Emir of the readiness of his Committee to organise a befitting cultural festival.

The Chairman wished the Emir long life, sound health, and a more rewarding reign as well as a safe return to his domain.
