Court Dissolves 4-Year-Old Marriage over Husband's Habit of Lying

Four year-old marriage between one Musilimat Muritala and her husband, Nureni Muritala was on Thursday dissolved by an Ilorin Area Court over the Nureni’s lying habit.

The 39-year-old wife, who accused her husband of continuous lying prayed the court to dissolve her marriage to Nureni.

She told the court that her marriage has been built on deceit since her husband never showed sincerity for the four years they had lived together.

"My husband lied to me that he was travelling to Ibadan not until my younger sister saw him in Offa on Dec. 27, 2012," she said.

Musillat who resides in Isale Koko area of Ilorin, Kwara state said the marriage was contracted in 2009 and has produced two female children.

"My lord, I want an end to this marriage because I hate liars and talkativeness," said the complainant.

However, the accused husband, Nureni did not object to the prayer of his wife, saying that she was free to go.
