Kwara Judiciary Upgrade: Magistrates And Area Court Judges Get 2025 Toyota Corollas
The Kwara State Government has presented four brand new 2025 Toyota Corolla cars to magistrates and area court judges, marking a significant step in the administration's drive to improve the welfare of the state's judiciary.
The Chief Judge of Kwara State, Hon. Justice Abiodun Adebara, presided over the official presentation on Wednesday at the State High Court in Ilorin. He revealed that this latest distribution brings the total number of lower court judges benefited by the Governor's gesture to ten, following an earlier presentation of six vehicles.
Justice Adebara praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, noting that such a gesture is unprecedented in the history of the Kwara State judiciary. He highlighted that in previous administrations, the government only provided used (Tokunbo) vehicles for judges at the lower level.
"I want to say without mincing words that in the history of the judiciary in Kwara State, we have never had it so good like this. There has been no occasion at all in the past when the government would make money available to procure new vehicles for magistrate and area court judges," the Chief Judge stated.
He further noted that the procurement of these modern vehicles would significantly boost the morale of the judges and enhance the overall administration of justice across the state. Justice Adebara also assured other categories of judiciary workers that plans are underway by the vehicle procurement committee to extend similar welfare gestures to non-legal staff in the future.
