Governor AbdulRazaq Declares Holiday for Teachers on World Teachers' Day
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has officially approved Monday, October 6, 2025, as a public holiday specifically for teachers in Kwara State. This declaration honours the observance of World Teachers' Day and highlights the crucial role educators play in the process of nation building.
The Governor's message was delivered by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe. The Commissioner paid a heartfelt tribute, commending the teachers for their resilience, sacrifice, and devotion. He described them as vital stakeholders in advancing human progress and national development.
"Our teachers embody patience, sacrifice, and resilience. They nurture minds, shape futures, and drive society's growth. Today, Kwara salutes their labour of love, for without teachers, no profession exists," Dr Olohungbebe declared.
