Kwara United Players Awarded N5m Each After Historic President's Cup Triumph

Date: 2025-08-05

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a N5 million reward for each player and member of the technical staff of Kwara United following their historic victory in the 2025 President's Federation Cup.

The Harmony Boys secured their first-ever title in Nigeria's oldest football competition after defeating Abakaliki FC 4-3 on penalties in the June 2025 final. The win qualifies the Ilorin-based club for the 2026 CAF Confederation Cup, marking a milestone for Kwara State in continental football.

Governor AbdulRazaq's gesture aims to bolster morale ahead of the team's dual campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League and Africa's secondary club competition.

A statement from the Governor's office affirmed: "This reward recognises their dedication and sets the stage for greater achievements in Kwara's football renaissance."
