The Kwara State PDP gubernatorial candidate was yesterday declared winner after securing the majority votes of 254,969 to beat the AC's Muhammad Dele Belgore, ACPN's  Senator Gbemisola Saraki  and CPC's Abdurrahman Abdurrazaq who secured 152,580, 72,456 and 10,042 votes respectively.

The PDP had 25 per cent in all the 16 local governments while ACN had same two third majority in 8 local government and ACPN in 2 LGs.  Professor Abdurrasheed Aderinoye, the collation officer for Kwara State said Abdulfattah Ahmad of the PDP, having scored 25 per cent of the total votes in all the 16 local governments, won the election.

Also, the PDP won 22 out of the 24 legislative seats of the state  assembly while ACN won the remaining two seats. PDP was also declared winner of the postponed Ifelodun/Isin/Oke Ero federal constituency election.

Meanwhile, the ACN and ACPN agent at the collation centre refused to sign the results of the election, alleging that the election were not free, fair and credible as widely proclaimed.
