NDLEA to Sensitise Kwara United Players on Dangers of Drug Abuse in Football
According to news gathered from Daily Post, the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is set to conduct a sensitisation programme for Kwara United players on the dangers of drug abuse in football.
The event will take place at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin, on Saturday, October 5th, and aims to educate the athletes on the negative impact of drug use on their performance and overall health.
The programme is being convened by the Commander General of the NDLEA Kwara State Division, Fatimah Abiola Popoola, as part of the agency's efforts to foster a drug-free sports environment in the state.
According to reports, NDLEA is taking its crusade into football as it has been observed that many Nigerian footballers take drugs to enhance their performance on the pitch.
The sensitisation is expected to be extended to other clubs in the league.
DAILY POST recalls that the NPFL have set up a committee to checkmate the use of drugs in the league.
