Kwara Govt Enforces Movement Restriction for Monthly Sanitation on Saturday

Date: 2024-09-27

As reported by Kwara State Ministry of Environment, the monthly sanitation exercise for September 2024 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 28th, between 7:00 am and 10:00 am across Kwara State.

Residents are urged to actively participate in cleaning their residential and business environments, as well as clearing drainages and bushes around their surroundings for health and safety reasons.

During the three-hour exercise, there will be no vehicular movement throughout the state. Security agents, environmental health officers, scientific officers, and members of the Environmental Task Force will monitor the exercise and enforce compliance. Offenders will face sanctions as necessary.

Waste management trucks will be available for waste collection, and the public is warned against dumping refuse in unapproved areas such as pedestrian walkways, road dividers, drainages, canals, and other prohibited sites.

Any attempt to obstruct government officials from performing their duties will be dealt with according to the law.
