APC Stakeholders in Kwara South Strategize for Local Government Election Victory
As reported by The Nation, All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and chieftains in Kwara South have outlined winning strategies for their candidates in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for Saturday.
The stakeholders expressed confidence that their party's chairmanship and councillorship candidates will emerge victorious at the polls. This consensus was highlighted during the inauguration of an 18-member team of canvassers for the APC chairmanship candidate in Ifelodun Local Government, held in Omupo, Kwara State.
Olufemi Yusuf, the APC chairmanship candidate for Ifelodun LGA, was a key figure at the event as party members rallied around their strategy for electoral success.
A chieftain of APC in the local government, Olumuyiwa Dada, is bankrolling the activities of the canvassers.
Speakers said victory for the party's candidates could only come through unity and oneness of members.
A member representing Ifelodun Constituency in the House of Assembly, AbdulGaniyu Salahudeen, urged party faithful to be in unison ahead of the election and subsequent ones.
Salahudeen, fondly referred to as AGF, who is also the chairman, Campaign Organisation of Yusuf, said his candidate would coast home to victory at the polls.
The local government APC Chairman, Abubakar Luqman, an architect, said: “We are confident that our candidates will emerge victorious at the election. This is because the canvassers being inaugurated today are capable of working for the victory of our chairmanship candidate and others.
“I urge all of us at the local government to settle our differences and put the interest of our local government above other interests. Let us chart a new course for the local government.
“I therefore implore the canvassers to work with the existing ward coordinators for the success of our party.”
Dada said the agenda of the gathering was to work for the victory of the chairmanship candidate and other candidates at the polls.
