Kwara NSCDC Issues Stern Warning Ahead of Nationwide Protests
According to a news report from Daily Post, the Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Umar Mohammed, has issued a stern warning to individuals who might exploit the upcoming nationwide protests for criminal activities and unrest.
In a statement released on Monday by the command's spokesman, Ayoola Michael Shola, Umar emphasised that the command is on high alert with stringent measures in place to maintain law and order before, during, and after the protest.
He further stated that the command will not fold its hands and watch hoodlums wreak havoc, and vandalize critical national assets and infrastructure, as adequate deployment will be made across the state to ensure watertight security of life and property.
While acknowledging the citizens' right to protest, commandant Umar, urged the youths and other concerned citizens to lawfully and peacefully express their grievances, ensuring that national security and public safety are not compromised.
He also encouraged law-abiding Kwarans to continue with their daily activities without fear, affirming that stringent measures have been employed to address the envisaged threat.
