Kwara United Faces Heavy Fine for Broadcast Disruption
According to a report from Daily Post, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has imposed a fine on Kwara United for disrupting the live broadcast of their matchday 31 clash against Akwa United.
In addition to the disruption, Kwara United faced charges for providing false information that resulted in a fixture adjustment.
The Harmony Boys had requested to reschedule their game against Akwa United from Saturday, April 20 to Sunday, April 21, citing a letter claiming that the state government had scheduled an event at the stadium.
The fine was communicated to the club through a memo, citing breaches of Rule C1.1 and Rule B6.23 of the NPFL's Frameworks and Rules.
The memo stated, "You are in breach of Rule C1.1... for making false claims about the unavailability of your home ground."
Kwara United have been given 48 hours to appeal the verdict.
