We've Distributed All Relief Materials to Flood Victims - Kwara Govt
The Kwara State government yesterday insisted that it has distributed all the relief materials in its custody to flood victims in the state.
It therefore dispelled the rumour making the rounds that it was still keeping the relief materials donated to flood victims in the state at a warehouse in IIorin, the state capital.
The Special Adviser to Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed on emergency and relief services , Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, made the clarification while addressing newsmen in IIorin.
He said relief materials worth millions of naira donated by federal and Kwara State governments as well as other organisations have been delivered to the flood victims.
"All the relief materials among which are bags of rice, bags of cement, bags of beans, print wax, mattresses, fishnets and other assorted goods have been delivered to the Council Chairmen of the five affected local government areas", Abdullahi said.
Some of the donors of the relief materials according to the governor's aide are Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation, the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA), MTN Foundation, Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation, Sociology Education Students of the Kwara State University, Malete and Leah Foundation.
Abdullahi assured the flood victims in the state of more assistance from both the government and private organisations.
