The Eminent Club of Ekan-nla has hailed Kwara state governor, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, for the appointment and presentation of staff of office to the Elekan-elect.

The new monarch was few days ago installed as a second class Oba amidst pomp and ceremony.

In a statement in Abuja, dated 10th January and signed by the President, Prince Mathew Ajayi and National Secretary, Kehinde Osasona, the club lauded the governor's wisdom in doing the needful, saying it was long overdue.

The statement equally hailed the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who doubles as the Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council for his fatherly role as well as prominent Ekan Sons and Daughters who played one role or another to attain the feat.

It reads in part: ” The entire members of Eminent Club Ekan land under the leadership of Prince Mathew Ajayi Ojikutu is using this medium to express our gratitude to the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman over the installation and presentation of staff of office to the new Elekan of Ekan land, HRH Oba Olaniyan David Adekunle.

“We also thank the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari for his fatherly role.

“May God grant our dutiful governor more wisdom, the Emir and the new king a long reign on the throne.”
