NUJ Press Week: Inter-Chapel Scrabble Competition Holds Tomorrow
Seventeen contestants from 11 Chapels of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) have been registered to participate in a scrabble competition, as part of the activities marking the 2023 Kwara NUJ Press Week.
According to the Secretary of the Committee, AbdulRosheed Okiki, nine male and eight players were registered by 11 of the 12 Chapels affiliated to the NUJ to participate in the competition which has been scheduled to come up on Wednesday December 20th, 2023, at the NUJ Press Centre, Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin.
The male contestants are Yinka Alabere (State Information), Ibrahim Soliu (Radio Kwara), Sodiq Adebara (Harmony FM), Bukola Sanni (NOA), Yinka Owolewa (Correspondents'), Dauda Lateef (Federal Information), Adebowale Adeniyi Kwara TV), Bunmi Obafemi (Unilorin FM), Dare Akogun (Sobi FM) and Ahmed Ajiboye (The Herald Newspaper).
Taiwo Okanlawon of the State Information Chapel tops the list of the eight female contestants, who include Hauwa Alimi (Radio Kwara), Raliat Ibrahim (NTA, Ilorin), Opeyemi Olaseni (Harmony FM), Bukola Jimoh (Federal Information), Fatima Rasheed (Kwara TV), and Janet Bogunjoko (The Herald Newspaper).
The competition, being sponsored by Pat Technologies Limited, and tagged 'Kwara NUJ/Plat Technologies Limited Inter-Chapel Scrabble Tournament will begin from 12.00noon, and end by 5.00pm, tomorrow.
The Press Week will commence same day with Medical check-up for members, by 9.00am, at the Press Centre, and will be followed with the scrabble competition.
The grand finale of the Press Week will come up on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the same venue, NUJ Press Centre, by 4pm.
The competition will be supervised by the Kwara State Scrabble Association.
