Kwara Flood Victims Get Relief Materials from Donors

Kwara State Government at the weekend delivered relief materials worth several millions of naira, which it said donor agencies and other reputable organisations donated to the victims of flood disasters in the state.

Some of the agencies and organisations that donated the materials include: are the Presidential Committee on Flood Relief and Rehabilitation, Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation, Students of Departments of Education and Sociology, Kwara State University and management and staff of Sterling Bank PLC.

Special Adviser on Emergency and Relief Services, Mr. Musa Abdullahi, handed over the materials to the chairmen of the five local government areas, which were severely affected by the flood disasters.

The relief materials include hundreds of mattresses, several bags of rice bags, cement and beans as well as packs of indomies. Others were hundreds of print wax, groundnut oil, fish net, plastic materials and other assorted goods.

Speaking after the delivery of the relief materials, the special adviser called on the five affected council chairmen to ensure that the materials are delivered to the victims of the flood disasters.

Abdullahi expressed the state appreciations to the donors, saying the materials would give succour to the victims and the state government was committed to the welfare of the people and would leave no stone unturned at adding values to the socio well being of the populace.

Abdullahi therefore thanked the donor agencies and organisations for rising to the needs of flood victims saying that, the gesture would go a long way of improving their socio well being.
