UNILORIN Registrar Tasks ASS Staff on Prompt Issuance of Transcripts
The Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Alfanla, has charged staff of the Academic Support Service (ASS) Unit to ensure prompt issuance of transcripts to applicants.
Mr Alfanla, who gave the charge last Tuesday (June 27, 2023) when he visited the unit, expressed displeasure at the delay in the issuance of transcripts to applicants, saying that it is unacceptable.
He urged staff of the Unit to ensure that transcripts are issued within days of receiving a request. He also assured staff of the turn-around maintenance of the office.
The Registrar, who was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Registrar (Exams and Records), Mr Adelodun Ajao, said, “I am not happy with the delay in the issuance of transcripts. This is a serious matter and it must be addressed”.
Addressing the staff last Tuesday (June 27, 2023), the Registrar said that there is an urgent need to ensure the seamless processing and issuance of transcripts, adding that “it plays a vital role in our alumni and students’ academic pursuits and career aspirations”.
Mr Alfanla emphasised the importance of prompt issuance of transcripts to applicants and charged the staff members to uphold this crucial responsibility.
The Registrar assured the staff of the Academic Support Services that the administration was fully committed to maintaining a conducive work environment and supporting their efforts.
He highlighted the Vice Chancellor’s commitment to providing necessary assistance and resources to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.
According to him, “the Vice Chancellor has promised to provide you with the resources you need to do your job effectively”.
Mr Alfanla said that the Academic Support Service Office is expected to operate at an optimal level, ensuring efficient transcript issuance and delivering excellent service to students and alumni alike.
He promised that the University of Ilorin will continue to prioritise academic excellence and enhance administrative efficiency as parts of efforts to reinforce the institution’s commitment to providing the best possible educational experience for all.
Some of the staff who spoke noted that the visit by the Registrar was a positive step towards improving the efficiency of the Academic Support Services and ensuring that transcripts are issued promptly to applicants.
They added that the Registrar’s commitment to the turn-around maintenance of the office reflects the administration’s proactive approach towards addressing operational challenges and improving administrative processes.
