The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, will on Sunday organise a special prayer in honour of four eminent sons and daughter of the Emirate who were recently bestowed with elevation and appointment in their respective careers.

They are; Assistant Inspector-Generals of Police Babatunde Ishola Babaita and Yekini Adio Ayoku as well as Commissioner of Police Salman Dogo Garba who were recently elevated to their new ranks by the Police Service Commission, (PSC).

Also on the list is a Professor of Medicine with the University of Ilorin, Aishatu Ahmed Gobir, who was appointed as the piooner Provost of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Emir's spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona on Tuesday confirming that the prayer will come up on Sunday 9th April 2023 at the Madrasatul Sheik Alimi inside Emir's Palace at 9am prompt.

According to him, “The prayer is in line with the tradition of how the Emir Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR usually support and honour indigenes of Ilorin Emirate with spiritual gathering (prayer session) before the assumption of their new positions and offices.

“The prayer will be led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Bashir Imam-Soliu OON to be assisted by other clerics in the emirate. The Emir therefore enjoins sons and daughters of the emirate and beyond to be present at the historic event.”
