Kwara Swears in CJ, Others
Acting Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Ayinla Bamigbola, was on Thursday sworn in as the Chief Judge of the state by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Ahmed also swore in Justice Tokunbo Abdulkadir as the High Court Judge, and Justice Kamaldeen AbdulLateef, as the Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal.
The governor urged them as leaders of the judiciary, to ensure that its independence was not compromised under any guise.
He added that they should maintain decorum and fairness to all in the dispensation of justice.
Ahmed also advised them to ensure quick dispensation of justice, adding that justice delayed is justice denied.
He asked the CJ and the other judicial officers to imbibe qualities that would enhance the confidence of parties in the judicial process.
He added that they should sustain the cordial relationship existing among the three arms of government for continued harmony and progress in the state.
Ahmed assured that his administration would continue to respect the rule of law, avoid interference in judicial operations and guarantee separation of powers, which, he noted, is vital to a growing democracy such as Nigeria's.
He stated that government had made it a point of duty to provide an enabling environment for judicial offices to excel, adding that it had also realised that more needed to be done to ensure efficient judicial services.
