NLC protests in Ilorin over ASUU strike

Date: 2022-07-27

Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress are protesting at the Kwara State Government House, Ilorin, in solidarity with the strike action of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

Some others are protesting at the Muritala Mohammed road, Post Office area of the state, on Tuesday.

The protest which is currently holding is also an opportunity for the NLC to bring attention to other issues affecting the nation.

The protesters carried placards with several inscriptions such as “Honour and implement your agreement with ASUU” among others.

The protest also had members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities present.

The nationwide protest was organised by the NLC in solidarity with ASUU over the strike that clocked five months on July 14, 2022.

The Nigeria Labour Congress had last week directed workers in state capitals and Abuja to join the protest.
