A man identified as Rilwan Akintunde has stabbed his friend, Habeeb Salihu, to death over a phone charger in Kwara State.

The incident happened around 9pm on Monday in Baba Saka community, Oloje area of Ilorin West Local Government Area.

Akintunde, whose father owns a block industry, is a spare parts seller at Ipata Oloje while Salihu was said to be the only son of his mother and he had a pregnant wife.

A resident of the area, Ahmed Alaye, said, "They had been friends, but during a 'friendship meeting' on Monday night, they had a disagreement over a universal desktop charger.

"Habeeb was the owner of the charger, which Akintunde was using to charge his phone battery.

"Habeeb, who was sitting on his machine at the time, insisted he wanted to go with his charger. An argument ensued and Akintunde reached out for a knife and stabbed Habeeb on his neck and several parts of his body which led to his death."

When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, saying, "The police are still on the trail of the suspect."
