Kwara's Young Talent Nominated for 3 Awards at Nigeria Radio Awards
One of Kwara state's young talent in the broadcast industry Abdulgaffar Arikewuyo has been nominated in three categories at the first edition of the Nigeria Radio Award 2012.
Abdulgaffar was nominated in Campus On Air Personality of the Year, Community Show Presenter and Campus News Bulletin Reader. Winners would emerge through Voting as lovers, fans and friends are expected to send text messages to 32050 and vote on-line. Voting procedure requires individuals to send a text in the following formats individually "RADIO COAP ABDULGAFFAR", "RADIO CSP ABDULGAFFAR" AND "RADIO CNBR ABDULGAFFAR" to 32050. Fans are opportuned to vote as many times as possible in each of the three categories.
Voting is opened to everyone everywhere as nominees with the highest votes would emerge as winners. In a chart with Kwara State nominee (Abdulgaffar Arikewuyo) he thanked the organizers of the event for bringing up such an event stating that it will help boost the morale of the practitioners in the industry who still have wide and diverse opportunities to excel in the profession they love.
Abdulgaffar called on all and sundry to vote for him as it will not only benefit him but put the broadcast industry in Kwara State into lam light, while promising to keep the flag flying. He also encouraged the general public to also vote for his Station stating that UNILORIN FM has brought dynamism into the broadcast industry in Kwara state while emphasizing that the young ones in the industry should be given a chance in the industry.
He said in most Radio Stations in the county today it's a mixture of the young and old stating that the ones that rule the air waves now are the ones who give listening ears to the young ones while the elders in the profession play advisory and supervisory roles.
Abdulgaffar, a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Ilorin started his career in the broadcast industry in 2005 with the Kwara State Broadcasting cooperation, he has also worked with stations like Radio Bayelsa, AIT and Ray Power Yengoa, Bayelsoa State and now with UNILORIN 89.3FM where he presents and produces news and Programmes.
The total love and passion for his Job has kept him in the Profession and aims to reach the peak in the Industry.
The Nigeria Radio Award 2012 is the first edition would hold in Lagos on 23rd November, 2012 where winners would be announced and celebrated.
