PDP Ticket: Kwara Ex-Lawmakers Endorse Saraki, Group Backs Tambuwal

Date: 2022-01-12

Former lawmakers of the Kwara State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have said former Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, remains the best choice for the party in the quest for president come 2023.

The forum disclosed this during a press conference in Ilorin on Tuesday, adding that the former Senate president has demonstrated capacity and brilliance backed with the necessary legislative and executive experiences to deliver the country from its present state of hopelessness.

Asked about the reality of Saraki's chances against northern contenders like Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Rabiu Kwankwaso among others, the spokesman of the group who is also a former House of Representatives member, Abraham Ashaolu, said Saraki has the edge.

Similarly, the Youth Initiative for Sustainable Leadership and Good Governance has endorsed Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State for the presidency.

Rising from their annual general meeting tagged 'Youth as the catalysts of sustainable development' that took place on Tuesday, they said Tambuwal was fit to man the country's presidency.

The national chairman of the initiative, Mr Ike Uche, and National Secretary, Prince Zayyanu Marafa, in a statement decried the rising insecurity, saying the country requires a young and energetic leader to tackle the challenges.
