The Chairman of the Kwara Football Association, Malam Idris Musa, says the body is working with Kwara United and relevant stakeholders to ensure that required medical facilities are in place for any football match in the state.

Musa , speaking in Ilorin, observed that the association is working with Kwara United to ensure medical personnel and facilities are in place for Sunday's match against Wikki Tourists of Bauchi.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had directed the League Management Company (LMC) to ensure that teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) comply with the maximum medical requirements for any football match in the league.

The directive came as a result of the unfortunate incident at the Lafia Township Stadium on Sunday, which led to the death of Nasarawa United's defender, Chineme Martins, who slumped and died during the NPFL match day 23 with Katsina United.

A source at Kwara United, who pleaded anynomity, said the club is working with the state Ministry of Health to provide it with a well equipped ambulance service on every match days for the club.

The source said the club has always complied with providing medical facilities during their games only to redouble their efforts toward ensuring improved service delivery.
