Kwara's 'O to ge' is now 'O t'ope,' says APC as candidate wins Gov poll

Date: 2019-03-11

The All Progressives Congress has said that the party's O to ge (Enough is enough) slogan in Kwara State has become O t'ope (It is praise-worthy), as its governorship candidate, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was declared the winner of the keenly contested election.

Taking to its verified Twitter handle @OfficialAPCNg in the aftermath of AbdulRazaq's declaration as winner on Sunday, APC had tweeted,

The ruling party believes that the O to ge slogan was instrumental in the sacking of what is generally perceived as the "Saraki hegemony" in the state.

The adoption of O t'ope is traceable to APC National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's response to reporters' enquiry on Saturday, about his reaction to the call for Lagos State's own 'O To Ge,' which was the campaign slant of the opposition.

A coalition of civil society organisations and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos had said that the state needed to be freed from the grip of perceived political godfather.

However, Tinubu said that as far as Lagos State is concerned, residents should rather be thankful of their fortune. He then went on to state Lagos State's achievements since the return of democratic governance in 1999.

Meanwhile, Senate President Bukola Saraki has since congratulated the Kwara State governor-elect, Dr. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
