2012 NSF Qualifier: Latest from North Central II Heat in Kwara

North-Central II Pre-Festival Heat Host, Kwara State has qualified to the finals of the football category for the National Sports Festival as results begins to turn-in from the underway Pre-Festival play-off taking place in Kwara.

Kwara State claimed the qualification slot, as they secured the maximum six points after defeating the State duo of Niger and Kogi, 2:0 and 3:2 respectively.

In same event, Kogi fumbled against Niger State as they were edged out 2:1, though the victory was not enough to help the Minna side to secure a ticket.

Also In Volleyball, Niger has earned the ticket for the zone in the female Volleyball category after edging out Kogi on 3:2 in the two states' encounter.

In same event, the Male category of the Volleyball game heat, Niger thumped Kogi on three straight sets to win 3:0 and further spanked Kwara 3:1, while Kogi defeated Kwara 2:1 in other zone Volleyball encounter, although the victory seem a waste after Niger claimed the qualification slot.

Likewise, the Handball male category, Kogi breezed past Kwara winning 35:17, as Kwara and Niger ended tie on 30:30, while Niger edged out Kogi on a point difference winning 31:30 to book their place in the finals of the National Sports Festival in the Male category of the Handball game.

While, the female category of the Handball game was won by Kogi State.

Not forgetting, the game of Basketball's male category, Kwara State defeated nigeri 49:37, with Niger seeing off the Kogi on 57:37, while the host, Kwara thrashed Kogi 50:21.

In a meantime, Kwara progressed to the National Sports Festival finals of the Basketball's male category as they grabbed yet-another ticket to make two after securing a maximum six points from two victories over Niger and Kogi.

Same event, female category saw Kwara State thrashed by Niger on 19:31, a victory that ensured Niger grabbed its fifth qualification slots in the underway North Central Zone II heat in Ilorin.

The on-going North Central Zone II pre-festival heat involves three states namely, Kwara, Niger and Kogi.

Savidnews.com understands 25 games will be competed for by the state trio of Niger, Kogi and Kwara in the on-going Pre-National Sport Festival heat in ilorin.

Kwara State are current host of the 2012 National Sport Festival's Zonal screening, winners in various sports category will represent the zone at the finals slated to take place in Lagos by November.
