Presidency Consoles Kwara Govt Over Offa Attack

The presidency has sympathised with the families of victims, residents of Offa, and the government and people of Kwara State over Thursday's violent robbery attack in the town.

According to the Presidency, the Nigerian Police have arrested a number of suspects and deployed more personnel to the town to assist in investigations and shore up security in the town.

This is contained in a tweet by the official handle of the Presidency, @NGRpresident . The tweet reads, "We sympathise with the families of victims, residents of Offa, and the government & people of Kwara State, on Thursday's violent robbery attack.

@PoliceNG have arrested a number of suspects and deployed extra personnel to the town, to assist in investigations and beef up security.

LEADRRSHIP Sunday recalls that about 30 robbers had hit Offa town in Kwara State, raiding five commercial banks in a coordinated attack that lasted hours, left the banks damaged and many feared killed and injured.

The armed robbers were said to have made away with several millions of naira from the banks, leaving behind a tale of sorrow, tears and blood. Some reports had put the death toll at 30, including nine policemen.
