Shamsudeen Bada, APC Youth Leader in Irepodun LG empowers members with tools, cash

Date: 2018-04-01

No fewer than 200 members of the All Progressive Congress Party (APC) in Irepodun Local Government Area of the State have received various items and cash in form of empowerment.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the beneficiaries of the empowerment initiative cut across the 11 wards of the council.

The event was organised to coincide with the 38th birthday of the initiator and sole financier, Hon. Shamsudeen Bada, APC Youth Leader in the council.

Some of the items distributed to the beneficiaries included, generators, grinding machines, driers, fans, bags of fertilizers, campaign vehicle and undisclosed cash.

Bada, in his remark, said the empowerment was aimed at bringing succour to party members, especially at the grassroots.

He described empowerment as one of the highest level of patriotism, philanthropic and dividend of democracy for the less privileges in the society.

"It is the highest show of love and kindness to humanity.

" Everyone deserves food on his or her table, everyone deserves better life.

"These are the reasons we are here gathered to empower some of our people who truly and genuinely need to be empowered," he said.

Bada called on wealthy individuals and group to imbibe the habit of charity and alms giving in order to impact positively on the less privileges.

He commended the exemplary leadership style of the Senate President, Sen. Bukola Saraki and pragmatism of the State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Alhaji Jimoh Balogun, Chairman, APC Kwara South Elders Forum, thanked the initiator for his foresight.

"Bada has demonstrated his genuine interest and loyalty in our leader and the party with this kind gesture.

"This is coming from somebody who is not presently in charge of any public position.

" We are proud of your achievements and genuine gesture to impact on the living standard of our members," he said.

Alhaji Taiye Mustapha, the Chairman of the occasion, described the initiator of the empowerment as a good giver and astute grassroots mobiliser.

Rt. Hon. Ali Ahmed, the Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly, in his goodwill message, described the gesture as timely and beneficial.

Ahmed, represented by a House Member, Hon. Mathew Babaoye, representing Irepodun Local Government Constituency, urged the beneficiaries to ensure the judicious use of the items.

The Oloro of Oro kingdom, Oba Abdulrafiu Ajiboye, expressed the happiness of the traditional institution over the gesture.

Ajiboye while charging Bada to maintain the tempo, urged other wealthy individuals, groups and associations to imbibe the philanthropic gesture. (NAN)
