Workshop in Ilorin: GTB MD Sensitizes Kwara Workers, Politicians on Risk Mgt Investment
The Managing Director, Guarantee Trust Asset Management Limited, Mr. Nicholas Nyamali, has expressed readiness to assist public servants in Kwara State in achieving a desirable retirement through quality financial freedom, asset management and risk intervention initiatives.
Nyamali added that the bank decided to partner Kwara State government due to the efforts put in place by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed in ensuring welfare of the people of the state not only during their active years of service but also when they retired.
The financial expert made this known yesterday at the opening ceremony of a two day workshop for civil servants and political office holders entitled: "Steps to attaining financial freedom", held at the Banquet Hall, government house, Ilorin.
According to him, "We have designed this gesture to ensure financial freedom among civil servants and help them plan for their tomorrow which shall soon come through retirement.
"It is worthy of note to clearly state here that this programme ought to have attracted the sum of N 200, 000 per head but the governor has made it free for the benefit of Kwarans.
"It is our hope that at the end of this workshop, participants would be better informed on how to plan for the future and for the generations yet unborn."
Nyamali therefore assured Kwarans that GTB asset management limited will continue to partner workers in the state through the government in helping them live a desirable life.
In his address, Governor Ahmed urged workers who are looking forward to retirement to engage in accurate planning rather than fear for the period.
He added that the major challenge of people in government and public servants are the fear of the unknown which will come after they must exhausted the active years of service receiving monthly salaries and allowances.
"It is my desire to put it forward to them to start preparing for the period as we shall also help them in achieving their goals of financial independent.
"As a visionary leader and financial expert my hope is to see our pensioners waxing stronger through their foresight and investment vis-a-vis assets put in place", Ahmed said.
