Federal Polytechnic, Offa has been commended for sustain peace in the polytechnic since the restoration of peace after a protracted crisis some years ago.

The commendation was given by the Federal Ministry of Education and National Board for Technical Education at the 4th edition of the annual Peace Commemoration Day held in the polytechnic.

The representative of the Federal Ministry of Education on the Polytechnic Expanded Management Committee (EMC), Mrs. Uwem Asomugha, congratulated management, staff and students of the polytechnic for greater measure of peaceful coexistence enjoyed in the polytechnic, commending the Management for rapid development going on at both campuses of the institution.

She informed the gathering that paucity of fund which has hampered smooth execution of some programmes is a general issue which affects all ministries and parastatals in recent times. She therefore appeal to industrial unions in the institution to continue to cooperate and bear with FME and the management on scarcity of fund in the polytechnic, saying "we want peace to be maintained in order to progress."

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Mallam, B.M. Bamamu, also commended the staff and the union leaders for their cooperation despite challenges in the system. He assured that representations made by the unions would be adequately addressed.
