The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) on Sunday disbursed loan to more than 50 petty traders across the five local councils in the emirate.

The President of the association, Alhaji Babatunde Salaudeen, said that the loan was to uplift the businesses of the beneficiaries.

Salaudeen explained that the association was established to champion the development of the Ilorin emirate and the state in general.

The president, however, urged the beneficiaries to use the cash judiciously.

Over N1.3 million cash was disbursed to the beneficiaries.

Earlier, the Guest Speaker, Mallam Abubakar Nda-Salaty, urged the members of the association to exhibit piety in dealing with the downtrodden.

Nda-Salaty emphasised the need for people to contribute towards the development of their community.

He commended the association for alleviating the suffering of the less privilege in the society, just as he urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the cash.
